Oud Workshop / Intermediate Level

The Saudi Music Hub in Riyadh is pleased to announce an Oud workshop for intermediate-level participants, conducted by Moath Shawqi, which will take place from October 15 to October 31, 2024.

There will be auditions for registered participants to determine acceptance into the workshop, and details of these auditions will be sent one week prior to the start of the workshop.

The workshop will cover the following topics:
- Providing advice and correcting mistakes
- Daily warm-up exercises
- Playing Maqam in two octaves
- Analyzing the Maqam family and the most important tetrachords
- Improvisation and modulation
- Shifting techniques on the Oud neck
- Trill technique
- Performing a piece that incorporates all the above techniques

The results of the workshop will be showcased at the final concert on October 31, 2024.
